Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knew the whereabouts of my Dad's old Chimaera 500, reg E777 TVR. Car was formula red with magnolia hide.

Car was bought new by him in 1999 and sold in 2003

Cheers

Thanks for that. That's bizarre it's saying date of first registration 2003. Car was definitely brand new and registered on E777 TVR from new in 1999. Car was bought through David Prentice TVR in Portadown, Northern Ireland

My guess is the plate has been sold and put onto a 2003 car, also red. That car has dropped off DVLA for some reason. `Your` car could be out there on a new number?

Well if it's on a 2003 car, why does it say 'Year of Manufacture 1999'?

The report doesn't seem to make sense to me.

Hi Colin, hope all is well. Always keep an eye on the NI forum for your posts

Everything is good over here, need to meet up. Would love to take my Elise over to Kirkistown for a track day next summer.

I'll be in touch

I owned E777TVR a few years back, between 2003 and 2007. It was the red Chimaera 500 of which you speak. It had the documentation showing purchase in NI. Great car. I owned it for about three or four years and sold it to a guy from Sussex. Only sold it as we were moving to France and to import it was a pain and expensive. I has bought it from a guy near Wolverhampton. Whilst mine I had the nose repainted, serviced by Mole Valley each year. It was perfect when I sold it. Always regretted selling and often look to see if it about, hence finding your post. I have some photo's of it if you would like them. As far as I am aware it was exported at some stage but I don't know where to. I look for it as I considered buying it back!! Let me know if you find it. It had about 27k on the clock when I bought it and about 37k when I sold it. Superb car in A1 condition. Still miss it now and am looking to buy something for here in France but can't decide what I want. Have managed to track down my brothers MGC but it's not for sale. Needs to be near concours condition but not easy to find whilst here in France. Am tempted by a TR5. Good luck with your search. Let me know if you would like the pic's.
