Stuck 60 quid of BP 97 from empty which brings the needle just over the full mark , got approx 170 miles out of it between motorway and london roads . No real 0 to 60's but some spirited driving on the motorway ( all within the law of course )
I've read people getting 200 miles from a full tank , i was wondering if mine was drinking too much and is it a tuning issue ?

I'd say that spot on. I'm been using a app over past month or so and I've averaged 22 mpg. Lowest I got was 14 which was on a very spirited drive down the the Sunday service at merc world the other weekend.

200 possible if you cruise a 60 for the duration of the tank load.

Remember that a tank is not a tank based on the gauge.

I used to keep a complete "brim to brim" MPG log. All here

http://www.lotus-elise.org.uk/noble/runningcosts.h...

81 pence/litre average back then..... 21.75mpg.

i've managed over 300miles when the car was running over 500bhp and there was some spirited driving involved as it was the cruise to lemans in a group smile

all depends how much fuel you are using... due to my fuel tank I can use the entire contents of my 60L tank safely, you shouldnt be putting more than 40litres into a standard car otherwise you have run it too low.

Drove from Lechlade to Kerridges (154 miles) on 3/4 tank. Had a lambda sensor replaced and drove back on 1/2 tank or
7.7 gallons which would make the return journey 20mpg, which sounds about right to me. I had no idea how badly it must have been running on the way there; it only felt like a very slight misfire..!

so you're getting 300 miles a tank now after changing lambda ?

I usually fill up after about 225-245 miles and never can I squeeze in more than 41-43 litres.
That's the high twenties in my calculation. It's an "un-molested" 3litre,owned and driven by me from new,
dealer serviced each year, 9 1/2 years old.

I get around the same. In town driving in London I get 15-18mpg.

Longer motorway distance with some b roads just above 20.

Untouched 3r.

However the other great thing is fuel has dropped a lot in price!

Dropped 6p so I am happy.

Don't care really - if it returned 10mpg I'd still own it smile

Not sure until I fill up again. In my experience most cars (starting with a full tank) can cover quite a few miles before the guage even starts to move so although it still showed half a tank after 154 miles it might not have 154 still to go.
