The cheek of it! Looking out the window this morning i notice how clean my car is compared to my girlfriends parked next to it, oh whats that, hang on ....

ME: 'Come here and look at that'
GF: 'what'
ME: 'Whats that circle thing say on the windscreen'
GF: 'oh sh*t, why didnt you remind me'

Me: 'Well you should have got a reminder from DVLA'

GF: 'Who'

ME: ' I bet you havn't changed your registered keeper details from when we moved in January have you....' cue the girlfriend swearing and tearng the flat apart trying to fnd car documents as she doesn't know where they are...

GF: 'found it, its got our old address on it' ..

She then blames me for not reminding her to change the form. Its her car, she should take more responsibility for it, i've got enought to do...am i being out of order!!? I know exactly where my car documents are.

Rant over!

Poor ranting,

Firstly no police? barely a domestic, you didn't even spit at her let alone punch her.

Must try harder.....

Sounds like she's stereotyping you. Man = car stuff

Tell her to get the dinner ready.

If you're feeling brave you could point out she gets the fine / her car crushed.

If you value your life, just keep an eye on it in future. No big deal really.

I save myself the hassle of this. The wife puts petrol in it, I do everything else. From checking the tyres and oil to sorting the tax and insurance. It doesn't take me long to do and saves the aggro I'd get if I didn't sort it 'because it's her car'.

It's always our fault.

SWMBO got so drunk last Friday that she spent Saturday in bed with a raging hangover. My fault, although she couldnt explain why, even though I stayed at home as we couldn't get a babysitter.

Also my fault that she cried watching War Horse last night even though I was out & in the presence of Royalty until stupid o'clock this morning...

well i've got all the documents together she needs to tax it at the Post office and told her to get her sweet arse down the posty before 1pm today.

Dosy bint, i think i'll have to take responsibility of this going forward in return for many other womanly duties.

smile

I'd perhaps suggest checking her MOT as well. Mine once drove around with no MOT for 6 months; apparently 'They' whoever 'They' may be should send a letter the same way tax and insurance do so clearly not her fault.

I take care of it because if I didn't it would be my fault. Same as tyres, fluids and car insurance.

I get letters or texts from the garages I use to remind me of MOT time.

I remember the important bits like tax, MOT and insurance. Today MOH changed the rear wiper and housing for the squirter as it was annoying him that it didn't work properly.

Some things I can live with, the dodgy parking sensors for a start, but I did get the badly pixelated SID unit repaired. He wants the sensors deactivated....

It annoys me when people treat their cars like white goods and whinge when they get a large bill due to not having it serviced regularly.
