The P Corsa Systems on my 997.2 GT3 are dead .

Given i need an N rated tyre to maintain the warranty am i mistaken in suggesting i go for the PS2 ?

( i dont want Michelin Cups as i do mostly road mileage )

Done 6k in mine on PS2's - all you need for the road, especially when wet.

I run PS2's on my 996 GT3 on road and track. Great tyre. Really the default choice for road-biased GT3's.

Good call. If you aren't taking to the track with conviction, those are the best all season option from the N rated choices. If they ever slap the warranty approved label on the Supersports those will be the ones to have though.

They had some Michelin guys at Porsche Reading at some race sponsoring event - when quizzed on this issue, they mentioned N rated MSS's will probably be available by year end.

That would be great, but they said the same thing over a year ago, so I am not going to hold my breath until they actually appear. I wouldn't be surprised if N rated versions only showed up in 991/981 sizes either (thus of no use to 996 or 997 drivers). We shall see.

Not checked but can you get 19"s for the 991/981 in sizes that will fit the GT3?

Nope. 991 has 235/40R19 and 285/35R19 whereas the 997 GT3 wants 235/35R19 and 305/30R19. The new car is designed around a higher profile, presumably to prevent the optional 20" rims from compromising ride as much as they would with a lower profile.

He did squirm about being asked that though and stated that running them would invalidate the warranty.

Interesting to note that the Cayman R for sale in the showroom that very same afternoon was running MSS. Naughty.

but PSS is available in GT3 sizes .. rear load rating (102Y) the same as N rated Pilot Sport Cups and N rated P Zero Corsas, but front rating (91Y) different to Sport Cups (87Y), but same as N rated P Zero Corsas ..

when my Corsas run out, I'm getting PSS even if not N rated.

this is illogical ..

PSS is less grippy than Sport Cups, so car is actually subjected to less abuse.

Plus he's not the warranty company.
