I'm sure this has been answered a hundred times before but I can't get the search function to work on my phone!

Are the cerbera's running costs a lot more than a T car! Coming from a Tuscan I probably spent about £1700 a year including servicing and other than the clutch going and having the dash repaired twice, it was fairly reliable!

I'll be looking at a v8, not overly concerned with a 4.2 or a 4.5 and looking to spend 12k at the most!

Anybody have any pointers for me?

Buy a good one and about the same but buy a bad one and your selling your soul to the devil.

Google ... Pistonheads cerbera and any thing you need to know.

Obviously chassis condition is one of the main ones, a lot of cars seem to have had work done already!

What are the electrics like? Heard a few stories about them being a pain in the ass!

Engine and clutch issues will be like the speed 6, buy on condition, mileage and any work done!

Take a look at the history on my two Cerbs. I've documented everything over 8 years of ownership.

It's one of those areas which you need to go into 'Eyes wide open'!

Some cars haven't had work but then they've been looked after and don't need work. Some haven't and they're rotting away... Some have had work and they've just been 'botched'... Some have and now they're better than new! It is a real mixed bag.

Do your research, talk to owners, etc...

However, don't be afraid of buying something that's a real stter... As long as the price is right. wink

I came from a Tuscan to a Cerbera and while I do miss the Tuscan I am glad I have the Cerbera.
Running cost, well I went from a Speed Six Tuscan to a Speed Six Cerbera and I don't think there is any difference in the running costs It just depends if you are unlucky and your car needs surgery. My Cerbera did and it has hurt. I have upgraded the suspension to make it more drivable something I should have done with the Tuscan and rebuilt the engine in the Cerb as well as replacing the clutch and other items etc and the Cerbera has probably cost me £13k in 3 years ownership!!If not more I haven't added it up.
If I look at it like for like I honestly don't think there is anything in it.
But your question refers to a Cerbera AJP so I don't know if this is any help but I do have a bloody good Cerbera with a well sorted engine. And I would hate to be parted with it, I can still remember what it felt like when the new owner of my Tuscan drove away from my house with a big smile and waving at me as he gave it the full Bhoona down my street...............NEVER AGAIN!!

Know what you mean about watching someone drive away in YOUR car, it hurts like hell and won't be happening again. This is why i'm trying to get as much info as possible, the next TVR will be keeper and while I don't mind spending money on it, I don't want to be throwing money away because I have not done my home work.

The main reason I want a v8 is because of the noise, always remember driving down a country road in my Tuscan with CCC's and being drowned out by the cerbera passing me in a the opposite direction, lol! Silly I know but hey, you wouldn't want a TVR unless you were a bit silly.

Good effort Scotty,
All my video's are of the car sitting still on the drive!! I've spent that bloody much on the car I can't afford a Go Pro, and it just wouldn't look right driving about with a big bloody camcorder sellotaped to the bonnet.... I can't even use my phone as that is pre smart phone era and aint much smaller than the camcorder!!!

I aint got the gadgets but at least I have a big angry Cerbera...

In the garage on sorn!!!!!weeping

Mark.
