Hi all

Always been a die hard BMW fan but due to a change in circumstances my z4 si coupe had to go

I got a bit carried away and replaced it with the beastie below. Its an 2010 A5 Sportback. 3L Diesel of all things. I know its a bit on the sensible side but it will do 0-60 in 6 seconds, 45 odd mpg, its got 4wd which is something I felt I needed now having to do a regular 400 mile round commute from the peak district to rural wiltshire. Its got all the toys, xenons, led DRLs, MMI, high res nav, dvd player, adaptive cruise, bang and olufson (which sounds incredible). Its only done 23k miles.

It wont be to everyones tastes, but here it is:

Its so comfy, actually a lot more comfy than the last few BMW I have had. I still have a 320d compact but the mrs uses that. Very happy with my purchase.

Can't think of many cars other than one of these that look so much better as a 4dr compared to the regular 2dr!

First comment about "the imagine". Can we say we've done that joke for this thread now?

You could have bought an A4 and I would barely have been able to tell the difference! Lol.

They are similar but if you sit them side by side (i did at the dealership), to my eye, the sportback looks nicer. A fair bit more expensive though

Thanks for the comments guys. Going to give it it's first proper run today wink

Sportback is a lovely looking thing but very sensitive to colour and wheels (yours i lovely but a dull colour on little wheels looks awful) - 3.0 is a peach too. Enjoy!

Love it. I agree, this actually looks better than the Coupe.

Took it for my first long drive today - 100miles. Truly effortless. Also, sitting at 90 on the mway barely touching 2k rpm in 7th gear getting the best part of 50mpg. I think i'm in love!

It looks like an A7 in sportback guise, is the difference just that it's smaller?

I bet it's an awesome car to drive, with great build quality and all the other German attributes that go with it, but i have always thought the proportions of the A5 to be wrong, just seems to long and to heavy looking to me. Don't get me wrong, choice is personal and im not knocking yours, just IMO there are better looking coupes on the market.

Looks superb!

Plenty of real world performance, great fuel economy and a very comfortable place to be!

In my view, a very nice car indeed!

Now where are the interior pictures you slacker? smile

the Bang and O system is incredible but it adds bugger all to the used value of a car which is why used it is a great extra

£6k option when new and I looked at a 2009 A4 which had it and it was £10k

really not worth the expense new

used however
