Future XK Facelift

From what I've heard from Jag dealer, the next XK will be a different car to move it away from the new F-Type.
It will be a full four seater, 2 or 4 doors nobody knows yet. This will be launched 2015.
So the current XK is the last of its kind, to make room for the F-Type. This makes sense.

The 1st XK ran for 10 years so I would expect the current XK to have a similar run. At present there is no hint of a replacement, is there?!
I don't buy into the idea that the F Type is a replacement, the 2009 XK updates suggest that they wanted a GT car to compete with the DB9 and DBS. Indeed this was a common theme in the sales patter when I was visiting dealerships to get my XKR. The F Type is very much a sports car to rival the 911. There's clearly a market for Jaguar to do both a GT and sports car. Oh and a new XJ220 style HyperCar!

The first car ran for 10years because the company was getting no investment from Ford, it was well past it's sell by date. Current car has been going for 7 years in March. There is nowhere to take the product. A facelift will not do it, the interior like that of the XF has timed out. All they could do is stick in the new 3.0 Supercharged V6 and re-equip the range with the ZF 8 speed auto. Seeing as the F-Type is running down the XK production line using a shortened version of the all new XK floor plan, there is no reason why the new XK isn't arriving in the next 18 months?

If you're expecting a new XK in 18 months, then you'll be disappointed. Dealers have been told the current one will have 2 more model-years, and then that's it for the XK. Meaning 2013 and 2014?
I find that a little surprising, because the current facelift of the XK is not the prettiest - the original 4.2 coupe and the '08 5.0 were far better looking, the current one looks quirky and soft. The car has further to go aesthetically and as long as people will buy the DB9 there will be those who want to but can't afford to so will buy the XK.
In addition, why throw away the undoubted market for a GT? so I say one more facelift, say for 2014, probably some new engines, then two more years.
