Thanks, pure luck got up early and walked out and the sun was just in the right place, wiped my finger over the badge and took it, thought it was worth posting smile

First snow for us today. Must admit, she was in the garage overnight, went out to have a play though.

Being a Porsche newbie here I'm feeling slightly anxious about snow!
How awful is my 996 C2 on 285/30/18s likely to be?
Back end seems fairly lively even on mildly moist roads!

Not good, just fitted a set of used 17" wheels to mine, with winter tyres on. I used the same tyres on the 993 last year and they were great.

Oh dear, as I expected. Perhaps I'll hang on to my Scooby for a bit longer then- that's a hoot in the snow

Good idea. If you've never driven on winter tyres however you would be amazed at the grip they provide. I get much better traction from my CS on winters than I do from my Evo on normal tyres.

I loved winters in my old Polar 993 but I had to sell my set of winter wheels and tyres to pay for some god-awful leaking oil cooler, so this year I'm grounded. If the bloke who bought them is reading this, I hope you have fun. Sainsbury's car park on Christmas morning is good value.

Try Harder - don't try harder. Nice shot.

Very true. It's all very well driving like a Snow God on our winter tyres, but if the un-insured chav hits you up the arse at the roundabout because he can't stop in his summer-tyred Saxo, then it's Goodnight Vienna.

Watch out for the BMW X-5 drivers too.

More slippery than a snake in an oil slick.
