Hi,

I have a 1996 N 4.0 Chim, its just coming up to a 100,000 miles. Its had 3 owners from new,its got full TVR Service history, just got 12months mot went straight thru. I have changed or had done everything on this car its perfect now. Manifold gaskets, sensors, plugs, leads, cap, arm, etc etc. I have used as a daily driver for 6 months and clocked 10,000 miles. Its a bluey green colour with no marks at all. The interior is equally in good condition. I know its high mileage which effects price but it really does seem to good to let go for silly money just cause of mileage. Im stuck at what price to start at but you really do need to see it to appreciate it.

Any advice gratefully recieved..

Thanks

£9,500 for a quick sale, or you'll get little interest because of the many lower mileage cars about.. it depends how much you want to sell and how long you can wait for a buyer though.. you may get more if you hold out for the right person

Cheers,
Matt

Never been worried about the mielage thing personally… these cars don't feel run in until they hit 70k (IMHO)

In fact I know of one Chim that's hit 140k on the clock, and it's probably one of the best I've driven. To quote the mantra "condition, condition, condition"...

Thats very true to a point but 100k is a lot of miles.. As you know, I'm looking for a Chimeara at the moment and whilst 50-60k doesn't bother me at all, in all honesty there is no way I'd buy a car with 100k on the clock.. sorry... not even for £9k (of course, I'm just one opinion, there are people who would I'm sure )

Cheers
Matt.

I'll second that. A properly cared for Rover engine is probably good for at least twice round the clock. If everything has been attended to--chassis OK,no leaks etc then a high mileage probably indicates just how reliable and a joy to drive the car has been to the owners. I bought an eight year old 4L with only 16k on the clock and it was a real dog why?--because it had spent most of its life rotting in a garage.

...a little bit cheaper than you'd mentioned by email too.. If the one I'm seeing tonight doesn't work out, and we can haggle a bit then I'd be happy to take it off your hands..

Thank you Matthew, i will pass on the comment.
She found me and wouldnt take no for an answer. She enjoys fast cars so thats my excuse for getting them. Although she would rather drive them than be driven in them.
