looks like the passes ive got are restricted to the setup day and after 5 on sunday grrr.

Ive got to figure out how to get 2 cars there yet as well, and as I'll take the race transporter looks like you need a 50 quid deposit for the parking yikes

I do love the nec not

Graham

I am surprised Ralph has not given you any more info or tickets.
The ones I have spare, are family tickets I purchased.
Ref paying, a deposit on Thurs when you deliver your cars, if you have them on a trailer you don't need to pay a deposit!

If you want tickets for the other days speak to Ralph, Steve or Frank!

I think all vehicles have to pay the deposit (including trailers iirc) as they want to make sure people don't leave their vehicles in the way, but you get it back if you're out before the 1 or 2 hour deadline they give you. I believe they put 1 hour by default on the pass but PC gets his changed to 2.

Hi David

No trailers (Car towed) don't have to pay a deposit, well thats what the paperwork says!
In Grahams case if he using a lorry then yes he has to pay £50 deposit which he gets back when he leaves!
Now I might be able to help by meeting Graham off site and transfereing his cars onto my car trailer etc if that helps!

Thats my interpretation, looks like my original email to ralph ref tickets went awol.. I really need a pair for sunday to bribe someone to help pick up the Taz from its owner.

the outline plan so far is

Take tuscan over as early as possible on thursday (Its going with as raced patina aka i havent cleaned it from silverstone yet !) then drive to coventry and pick up taz and deliver to nec.

on sunday take truck and my disco with trailer and a 2nd driver pick both up drive back to kidderminster via coventry. just need to sort a couple of tickets for sunday so we can get over park up and have a look round before unloading..

Ah it's probably the 'car towed' bit that excuses you then I guess?

Or it could be that's not busy because it's more expensive smile

Either way Friday is better as it is less busy, stand holders have more time to talk to you and they're not as tired/jaded as it's the first day.

Absolutely this. Saturday and Sunday are a nightmare for getting around due to the sheer volume of people. That said, with Top Gear live not being there this year it may be a little better.

The NEC is a private car park. What I do is turn up and "intend to pay on the way out". However if you leave it too late they've already cashed up the parking booths and can't be bothered to take the money. Simples!

Adam,
Now that definitely sounds like a plan worth trying!
Save myself a tenner too smile
Thanks for the tip, lets just hope they're still as unconscientious on Saturday when I come to leave.

If they look at though they are about to pocket the tenner, when handing it over, mention that you'll need a receipt. This will keep the transaction honest. If they refuse to do a receipt, refuse to pay until they produce one.
