My partner has suffered with this for a number of years and her doctor told her that the only cure would be to have an operation.

This is all well and good but as she is still working in an office environment using a keyboard and calculator i.e. what probably caused the problems in the first place. To my mind, having the op and then continuing to do what caused the problem in the first place would be a mistake. (At this point I would add that we are not interested in going down the 'let's sue the employer' route.)

What we are looking for is any recommendations for treatment/products that can ease the pain/uncomfort of RSI. I'm thinking supports to be worn either at work or during the night and/or medication (alternative or otherwise) that we could try.

Thanks.

My ex suffered from this due to speed-typing etc and I assume it is your OH's wrists / hands which are suffering, ie Carpel Tunnel Syndrome?

If so, my ex had some shaped splints which she wore on both wrists to support them in a fixed position so she could still work etc whilst wearing them and often wore them when asleep to help ease the extreme discomfort. As far as I remember, she got them on the NHS.

HTH.
