Might help if you explain what you are asking about?
Do you mean Electroconvulsive therapy? Not had it done, but know of a couple of people who have. It's a highly controversial treatment for severe depression.
Personally, despite benefits, I hate the idea of it, probably out of fear and ignorance, but it seems an extremely unfocussed and blunt method of treating an extremely sensitive organ.

No way to stop them that I know of/have been told. The only way I could deal with mine was a very very slow coming off process - it took me well over a year to go from 150mg to 37.5mg. I don't think they are dangerous as such, just feel bloody horrible! I would get them for about two weeks everytime I lowered my dose, then they would ease, so I just planned it around when I knew I had a quiet couple of weeks.

No thats the thing I have never taken SSRI's so I dont understand why I get them.
I have been getting them for nearly 12years they stop for about six months then kick off again without any sort of warning. I was thinking there could be a trigger but as said they are just out the blue scares the sh*t out of me.
An episode of them can last form 2-8 weeks they do get less intense but when they go away its always in the back of my mind will they come back its so horrible and what makes it worse is that the dr wants me to go on pill which I really dont want to do.

I read somewhere they are a possibly a form of epileptic brain activity - no known reason for those not related to SSRI withdrawal, but then many doctors say they're not related at all.
