Ok, here's a request for help.

I recently bought a second hand 991 carrera s from an OPC.

The car came with the "911 carrera s" at the back which I didn't like so asked to swap it to the "911" single item.

They did so but it somehow looks wrong. It looks like.. Too round and thicker. Basically looks like the one they had on the 997 anniversary or the later 997.2 models as factory option.

So when I brought my car to another OPC to get some work done I asked them to check what was the deal. They say they have ordered for me the 911 badge one for the 991 in "small" as there is a large version too. But I strongly suspect the small one is to with the "carrera s" and not as stand alone.

Mine should be the large... Just for the 991 and NOT for the 997...

Has anybody one through this. They don't seem to know much about parts and would like to "guide" them.

You could get "991" for a mere €375, or "This is not a 997, it's a 991, that's right the newest model" for €2525

Why have a badge at all ?
I'd have thought Carrera should cover it.

No did not. Obviously. Lets not steer it again about how overpriced the car is though... And all that comes with it.

Still at 100k sticker price when "new" you would imply correct badging used and not a halfords approach. Anyways.. Had given a go here as some might have had smth similar done. But glad I can be source of entertainment instead.

I think the badges on the back of the new generation Porsches look wrong. Too many different fonts. Think I will go for the deletion option, which I believe just leaves the P O R S C H E wording?

Good point actually.. Not sure you can actually see it as taken from a distance.. but the 911 just looks much thiker than the PORSCHE one.

100pct agree. if you go for the model delete option from factory it will also lower the PORSCHE lettering to be centred vertically. If you dont have it factory specced and have the "911 carrera S this-is-the-new-model-with-no-steering-which-costs-a-lot-more" then the PORSCHE will sit higher, deleting the bottom part would therefore look a bit odd. Hence why i wanted to retain the 911.

thanks for the part number will check that against the one my "new" OPC gave me. The old one now pretend they cant find the one they had fitted.. no wonder..

I think Porsche got it right with the 997, just 'Carrera' or 'Carrera S' etc.
