Lambada sensors
Discussion
Ive recently had a rolling road tune which showed the drivers side oxygen sensor cutting in and out. After a clean it seemed to be fine, i was told what to look for if it happens again. And sure enough it did, a replacement would be needed. After much chasing around and some silly prices I come to the conclusion that a universal unit would do, are they rated or do they just sense the oxygen level within the exhaust? I would like to know if I've done right by purchasing both sides to match or wasted 80 quid. The parts are identicle now where I would have had standard rover/TVR part on one side. As a note the part number on the original sensor was Lucas NTK d3g which lucas cant trace! The new universal items look identicle to the originals which were supplied by intermotor part number 16354 for reference. Are the 2 banks of cylinder fuel independantly controlled by each sensor? I would hate to get this wrong and have the engine run lean or rich due to incorrect sensing. Any idea's??

Blew two lambda sensors on mine the other month. Expensive to replace and suspect that it was one / both that blew that caused the whole ECU issue. Need to get a better answer as to why and what caused the whole problem. But end result was a rather expensive bill.... Not sure about the other parts and sensors though.
My understanding was that lambda sensors were for the emissions and fueling controls for the engine (one of). They are the ones that are plugged into the top section of the curved part of the exhaust in the engine bay arent they?
Cheers,
Paul
