Techbotics (Damian) referred to his S as a "she".
My Austin (ELY) is definitely a "he".
What gender is your "S", & has it got a name?
Let us know, it doesn't matter if just like me you've been to the pub.
Let us all know so we can mercilessly mock/ admire the erudite name choices out there.smile

The daughters of the previous owner of my car just called it "The Noisy Car".

Sums it up really and the name has stuck.

I am with Phillpot, execpt my S1 is "the blue one", and the Taimar is "the Taimar", But as for gender, I have never thought of ANY TVR as feminine, Macho Trevors all! But look at a Lotus, most, especially the old ones, Elan, Europa, ect even the Elise is feminine.............

According to my 6 year old daughter it's called my "broom broom" car.
According to Roger, my regular co-pilot, it's called "our TVR"...

Hi Manfred.

Hope all is well in Sweden.

Mrs.TT calls mine 'The old banger in the garage'. I have called it all sorts of names when carrying out such delicate operations as changing the engine mountings. I'm not sure about an every day name. Trevor is too obvious. I do call it J-Lo because that is its registration but this causes a few problems:

1. Is my TVR a boy car or a girl car?
2. The name would suit a Chimaera, surely?

When I had a proper job some years ago, a colleague suggested that the French knew all about this, that cars had to be sexed. (I am sure that LeTVR can confirm or correct my hypothesis.) I was told that Range Rovers were uniquely bisexual in that they could be 'Le Range' or 'La Range'. As a white Classic Range Rover was once voted the sexiest car in France - and I owned an example - I was disappointed that the only thing that I ever pulled in France was a caravan. However, I digress........

Jon Pertwee's Doctor Who had a yellow roadster and called it Bessie.

Which is cute, and it was a cute car.

But TVR's are manly vehicles. No electronic aids, noisy engines. Powerful. They, in my mind are definitive articles. My last was referred to as "The TVR" and I've no doubt the next one will be called the same.

Everythings just fine here, going to Nepal in two days. Not with the TVR wink
Think the anniversary thing was just the fact that they importet 10 cars that year to Sweden, so nothing special really.

My 3 year old calls it the 'small noisy green one' ;-) Kids are brilliant, everything should be named by kids.. life would be much simpler...

Mine is definitely a 'she' and has to be treated like one! Looked after carefully, like one. Talked to gently, like one (and can talk back pretty badly if I get it wrong!). Likes to go out, but only after hours of preparation. Expensive (likes new goodies and plenty of expensive nourishment!), like one. Fun and sexy...oh YES! Positively orgasmic on the right day!!! And, as befits a good looking and sexy lady, everybody I meet seems to want her!

My 'kids' reaction when I bought it was interesting. My eldest daughter (a petrolhead)was disgusted she couldn't reach the pedals (thank goodness!), my second daughter (definitely not a petrolhead) said 'you have bought THAT?' (it was a rough non runner at the time). My son, who would become a major petrolhead, just grinned and said 'cool'. It felt good! It still does!
