She's off tomorrow to a new home ;( Gonna miss that intoxicating howl as the motor spins up and the huge grin factor it's given me .

Its going to be replaced with a Thunderace
Ok no supersport machine but it will shift on pretty quickly has awesome stoppers and one less bloody gear to fart about with .

now the thing is , This is my 1st bike away from Kawasaki .... How long will it last ?

The way you (allegedly) ride, and a yamaha gearbox, I'd give it a month

Enjoy

Should have bought a bigger Kwaka!

The 'Ace is actually a much under-rated bike, but it's one of those that somehow never became fashionable. This means that you can pick them up for very reasonable prices.

Never understood why they didn't put an extra cog in the gearbox though.

Im considering getting a ThunderCat next summer - again, very underrated (they brought the R6 out shortly afterwards) so prices start around £2k - bargain

Den, if you get the front sprocket reduced by 1 tooth, it becomes incredibly ballistic. As for 2, you can beat standard R1's quite easily. I know, been there, done it, but killed the gearbox (3rd) at 17,500 miles. Done under warranty. Then the head gasket went. But we did often exceed 160 leptons. Like every ride out.

Took it for a blast last night and found it to be rather nippy on acceleration and top end , just what you need for popping down the shops
