I have a 50cc moped insured with a well known (On here) insurance broker. All I wanted to do was renew it on September 19th 2012. Nothing drastic nor unusual. Anyway they changed my current insurance company to a new one in order to save my £1.00. I kid you not. Now as we have moved house the DVLA has my license. New insurance company wanted to see it. I never sent it in time so they have cancelled my insurance and charged my £100.12 (already taken from my debit card) for 6 weeks 50cc moped insurance. This is the full year. Yeah very fair! I am sooo glad my cars are no longer insured with you and all though it makes no difference to you whatsover as there is always another mug to replace me I will never ever recommend or use your company again.

Did you speak to the new insurance company about the difficulty you would have in producing your licence on time?

Weird, I've never been asked for my licence before, not on cars or bikes.

What did they say when you phoned them before the dealine to tell them the DVLA still had your licence?

We sent them a copy before we sent them to DVLA. They lost them. And yes they did know the situation re: change of address. If they had kept us with the same insurance company we had before they there wouldn't have been an issue. They have also gracisouly offered to refund 32.00 of 100.12. WOW!

Sounds st on the part of the new insurance company to me. Bloody annoying when they've lost the copy & are aware of the situation.
