FDM Group - anyone on here dealt with them?

Just wondered if anyone on here knows much about the FDM Group? They seem to be doing a lot of graduate recruitment at the moment. If accepted it involves a lengthy (about 12 week) period of unpaid 'training' prior to starting on a 2-year consultancy contract at a customer site. Have been browsing a few forums which seem to brand them as a scam, the below is a bit concerning:
What will happen if I leave before the end of my two-year commitment?
You will not have fulfilled your obligation to work for us for two years and FDM will invoice you for all the training you have received, which can be up to £20,000.

I've just credit-checked them for you and they are a decent financially stable company so I wouldn't think that "scam" is an appropriate word.
TBH I can understand why they would have that clause. So many graduates take thier first job without any real interest in it beyond it being a stepping-stone.
If they are to invest 12 weeks training in you it seems fair-enough that they ask 2 years of work for it. In reality I bet they would never pursue it, rather put it there just to make people think about it.

I have friends who recently started working for FDM. If you leave within 2 years they WILL pursue the 20k. After the training you have to find a 'placement' - which involves interview with the client to ensure they're happy taking you on. The salary isn't all that, especially if your role is in Central London.
My gf's brother started with them...decided not to sign the contract and got work elsewhere...from what he was doing and the course layout I saw I can't honestly see what you get for your 20k....you are also not guaranteed a job and if they can't find you one you can't work for anyone else. Pay was erm cruddy tbh especially for the roles they were supplying for but then it gets your foot in the door with some banks....however they were having trouble with placements when he was there.
