Photo storage

I have lots of photographs from the past few years sat in my dropbox and on my server at home.

Is there any decent software for cataloging these photos that then give the option of uploading to an online service? Or is there an online service that already does this?

If you use lightroom then it has publish plugins. I know there is support for smugmug I suspect there are many others.

Another vote for Lightroom (then you can take your pick of where to store them online, I use Flickr), or if you want something free, look at Picasa, along with the Picasa web albums.
