Door locks

Hi there,

I need some help. When I press my door mirror switch to open my drivers door I get a loud sound from the pillar area where the door locking mechanism is. It makes a repeating brrr sound for a few seconds.

Has anyone else had this problem and how do I fix it?

Is you battery fully charged/healthy?

Sounds like the actuator/solenoid (whatever it is called) not having enough power. That or it is buggered.

While you are fitting it make sure you lubricate the lock mechanism.

I'm betting that is all that is wrong with it anyway.

Do you think just a good lubrication will fix the problem and stop the noise?.

Before you order anything its worth checking the switch in the sill at the bottom of the door to see if its contacting when the door is open, and that the rubber pad has not come off the door, as the switch wont operate when the door is closed.
