Hi all
Few months ago i sold my s type and came across this and it was something about it that made me just love it (not just the gas coversion haha).It was an ex mayors car and has 138,800 miles on it now and still wafts along with the best of them.She's not perfect but with a bit of fettling and a paint correction im sure she will be.First job is to find myself a front undertray,chrome door strip and some new door card clips and potentially a paint correction at some point then that will be the cosmetics sorted but for now im just enjoying her and using as a daily certainly makes the journey to work a damn site more bearable.
Anyway il try and keep it updated if i remember.

yeah i came from an s type and wasn't really looking for them and it just popped up and the rest is history haha.I gave just over £2000 for it,which wasnt too bad considering what iv seen them up for now

I used to have one of these, except in British Racing Green and without LPG. Bought at 150K miles and sold at 196K miles. Cost me a shedload of money in maintenance and repairs but worth every penny.
The only car I have ever owned that was equally at home creeping along in central London traffic late at night with smooth jazz playing through the audio system, or driving to the cemetery as the lead car in a funeral cortege, or screaming along twisty B-roads on a brisk Autumn morning with the full-throated roar of the V8 in your ears. I cannot think of a single car on sale today that can do the same. Maybe the Rolls Royce Ghost comes closest.
The woodwork is lovely in these cars, and worth keeping in good condition. After the X308 Jaguar started reducing the amount of wood in the interior. Ostensibly it was because of changing customer taste but I suspect that cost played a part as well. It is not cheap to do.
The separate rear seats are rare (most came with the standard rear bench). My kids used to love playing with them, until they were told to stop
If you ever need a new rear seat control switch pack PM me; I think I have a brand new boxed one somewhere which I never got round to fitting.

Il definitely bare that in mind about the rear switch pack,iv just got to suss out why the 2 right side heated seats aren't working (horrible feeling its going to be the elements as the lights all light up as they should although the rear button has to be pushed down quite hard to get it to light) but to be fair it's the only thing that doesn't work.Iv a feeling this one may be a keeper for me.

Cheers buddy its not a bad one at all,will be even better once iv done some odds and ends to it and get rid of the swirls,the buttons in the rear control the rear seats eg headrests adjustment,heated seats and seat adjusment backwards and forwards which makes the backrest recline and lumbar support.Theres even a button on the back of the front passenger seat so the rear passenger can move the front seat away from them haha.
