Fiesta Mk6.5 1.25

Hey, Just thought i'd start a thread for my Fiesta since it's my first car.

It's been my mum's car for the past 3 years with me using it occasionally.
Now she's decided on a different car so the Fiesta was offered to me at a price i couldn't say no to.

It's a 2007 56 Reg 1.25 Studio which i believe is the most basic fiesta since its got a tape deck (believe it or not)
and no AC, Electric windows etc.

In the last month i got a job with a well known pizza company delivering food using the car.

This means some extra cash towards modifications, which will start with small simple things.

Unfortunetly my insurance was up for renewal so now being 20, that was £750 i'm never going to see again.

Firstly, i debadged the rear.(Excuse the dirty car)



Next was to replace the weird looking gear gaiter that comes with fiestas with an ebay bargain, leather with blue stitching to match the car.



Then in the space of two days the car decided to blow a headlight and a brake light, the brake light was replaced with a standard bulb, and i decided to buy some supposedly blueish headlights and sidelights from halfords since they were on offer. Although the headlights are much brighter than the standard ones, they aren't blue at all, they're white but nevermind.

Also last week whilst driving in spray i noticed how terrible the wipers were so they were replaced with some flat blade ones, which are far better.

Finally, yesterday i received a K&N induction kit for it, sounds so much better now, well worth buying one!

Gonna do a few more little modifications whilst i save up for my two main plans, alloy wheels and lowering springs.

I'd prefer OEM wheels but if I saw some aftermarket wheels I liked the look of I wouldn't turn them down

Yeah it is a pretty nippy little car, especially round town. The insurance went up around £15 so basically nothing, plus I'm also covered on the companies insurance aswell (must cost them a fortune). Although i'm going to have to put the mileage up on my insurance which is going to add about another £100 but it's worth it I suppose haha

Be careful with the mods, most insurers charge something like £50 per modification declared, and whilst bulbs/debadging would likely go unnoticed, an induction kit could land you in it if you've a prang and you haven't declared the change.

Also, check out this video, you're probably LOSING power with the induction kit fitted!

Otherwise, nice car. I agree with the gaiter, the rubber thing is kinda weird!

The induction kit is declared along with alloys, in preperation for buying some, cost £70 including administration fee so not bad really.

To be honest its not what you'd call a high performance car anyway so I don't mind if it loses/gains a bit of power, it was more the lovely noise I was after.

£15 for business use on insurance? Bargain!

A mate had one of these for his first car, lowered it. put a K&N panel filter and a Piper backbox on it, looked and sounded good for what it was!

Update:
I finally got myself some alloys after a bargain came up on ebay, all 4 wheels are in immaculate condition and 3 out of 4 tyres have plenty of life in them, all for £80!


They are OEM wheels off the earlier fiesta zetec s, only 15 inch but I think they're the perfect size for the car.

Also I got myself an astra smooth rear wiper to replace the old ford one, and the most important mod, a PH smiley

It'd be a good idea to cable tie the heater hose that runs across the front of the engine to the dipstick tube. Mrs Hooli has virtually the same car & that hose slipped in the clip that retains it, it rubbed on the damn sharp fan supports & dumped all it's water on the M1. Because of the bloody silly idea on new cars that keeps the temp gauge at normal until they get stupidly hot she didn't know & it blew the head gasket.

Loved my little 1.25 fiesta mk4 was a nippy little thing.
Way better than all my mates cars when we were 18.
