Time for a new camera!

Our Lumix G1 has packed up after many faithful years of service and Mrs S is hinting for a Christmas prersent but I have no idea about cameras apart from the point and shoot type.
Mrs S doesn't have loads of lenses for the Lumix so I won't feel cheesed off if I buy her another make,this is where you come in,my fellow PHers.
I have no idea what to buy and the budget is flexible as I am still trying to make up for forgetting her 40th(2 years ago) so as you can imagine,it has to be good.

How about a Lumix GX1? Good camera, very good prices at the moment and Panasonic are offering £50 cashback.

If that's not enough you could get her a new lens to go with it? The Olympus 45mm is nice.

Watching that video gave me shivers. Love the attention to detail.

In response to the thread, if shes not a big glass collector, how about a Lumix FZ200? The lens is supposed to be superb and will handle much like a G1.
