Accusump is wired Brown/Blue from fuse 1 which is ignition switched live. Accusump end is Brown/Blue to the positive terminal on the valve with black from negative terminal to a suitable earth.

An accusump is a cylinder with a piston in it and holds 6 pints. There is a few psi of air at the back of the piston. It is connected into the oil system and fills with oil at normal oil pressure. The piston slides into the cylinder as it easily compresses the air.
This is how it stays all the time you have oil pressure but if you get surge in a corner or more likely under braking with the Ultima and loose pressure the accusump dumps 6 pints back into the system.
It also has a solenoid valve (hense the wiring ?) that closes when the ignition goes off trapping oil inside which is then released when you next start the engine giving full oil pressure before the engine turns over.

Re the sump question. Yes it is shorter and fatter with wings. I think it is 7 inches deep but not sure. If you are building your own engine the factory can supply a sump. If you get the AS engine it will come fitted with the correct sump which is one of the reasons AS have a special engine list for Ultimas.

I have a 7qt Canton sump, fitted to my AS engine.

Believe it is an sbc road race sump, #15-250
