Recommend me a TV for Gaming

OK I want to move my gaming setup upstairs to my "office" so I need recommendations for a decent Gaming TV to which I can connect my PS3\Xbox console and also my laptop from time to time. I'm thinking 32" might be about the right sort of size so what do I need to look out for and do people have any recommendations for a particular set?
What things do I need to possibly consider for Gaming, refresh speed\Mhz (not sure how important this is) input lag, resolution i.e. 720p, 1080p ideally I think I'd like it to be the latter\full hd.
I did think about buying a monitor at first rather than a TV as these are better for gaming, is that correct? I'm not really sure what the difference between a modern LCD TV and a monitor actually is. However I do also occasionally want to watch TV on this screen so I guess a monitor is out unless I buy a tv tuner for the laptop?
So any experts who can give some advice on the above?
