I posted earlier on the "Cars You Wished You'd Kept" thread about my Old 205 1.9 GTi. It got me thinking that if I knew where it was I would really try to buy it back, now I REALLY want to buy it back.

Thing is I'm a bit thick with these sort of matters so I was wondering if any of you intelligent and well connected fellows could scratch a few backs and tug a few strings to see if my lovely old car is still screeching round corners or is laying in some breakers yard in bits.

I can't recall the full reg, it was E***MUC. I'm pretty sure there was a 2 after the E but I sold it in 2005 so can't remember.

Thanks in advance.

No none Blib, I was young and silly so I didn't bother to take any. You could have taken some for me, they would have been immense hehe

I've been in this predicament for a while, but I've decided not to as I'm 99.9% sure the car is long gone and I'd be severely disappointed to find that out.....
Great emotional significance with that one.

If you don't know the reg number then your only way is to contact the person who you sold it to, find who they sold it to, etc. etc.

Otherwise, buy another one in top nick and pretend it was your old one - if you can't remember the reg then it won't feel any different after a while! biggrin

Thats what worries me. I'm pretty sure the milage was 100K+ back then, I tore the arse out of it, it had a tow bar on it when I bought it. But the previous owner (a former work collegue) spent money getting it straight as I did so if the latter owner kept it going it could still be out there.

Would buying another similar one not scratch the itch?
