Will need to change a pair of tyres on the car in the coming weeks so have done a cursory search on t'internet for a pair of the tyres I'm considering.

From the quick search I have done, there seems to be a bit of a difference in price between www.mytyres.co.uk and www.blackcircles.com with mytyres working out £30 cheaper for the pair.

The only difference I can see is the tyres listed on mytyres are described as having rim protection.

What is this?

Does it affect the performance of the tyre compared to the same tyre without the rim protection?

Would this account for the price difference?

Your links don't show the tyres, but this explains rim protectors..

If they are the same make/model of tyre I doubt one is available with a rim protector and the other without, it's probably just that one retailer doesn't choose to state it.

Rim protection isn't really worth shouting about; it does reduce the risk of curbing damage if you scrape along a curb but that about all it's good for.

Personally having just had the wheels refurbed, rim protection is a must, if it helps a little that's better than nothing smile

Eagle F1's or Toyos are pretty good smile
