Best Sports exahaust for a Tam
Discussion
Ii'd like to change my currently standard exhaust to one that pops on overun and sounds deeper at Wide Open Throttle but doesn't drone or just sound to loud when cruising. Is this possible?
My current exhaust doesn't pop at all and does drone quite bad when cruising at mid rpms.
I had a bad experience with a V8 mustang, I changed the factory exhaust and the aftermarket item droned horribly, it lasted 1 week.
Thoughts appreciated, Lee

Firstly decat it if you haven't already.
I'll go along with getsis on this one- ACT big bore cherry bomb system.I put one on my sp6 Cerb & made a fantastic difference.Deeper growl, nice rumble on tick over with a more "v8 ish" sound about it.Pops & bangs were ridiculous! Artillery grade. Not sure what's on the end on the Tam,cans etc.Not wishing to upset anyone, but I much prefer it to the "raspy" sound of some.

Just a word of warning with removing CATs, since January 2012, cars that originally had a CAT should fail without one. Obviously this depends on who is MOTing it - them's the rules apparently:
SECTION 7: Exhaust, Fuel and Emissions
• A catalytic converter missing where one was fitted as standard. (Vehicles subject to a full cat test only.)
Exhaust tailpipe positioned so that fumes are likely to enter the driver’s or passenger area.
• A fuel pipe or hose excessively chafed or damaged.

Thanks for all the replies, sounds like ACT full system with Cherry bomb could be what I'm looking for. Has anyone got a sound or video clip of this system (iphone recorded drive-by would be good?).
Silly question, what is the cherry bomb centre section, is it just an expansion volume placed in the system to create the 'pop' on overun?
Thanks again, Lee
