and now on the Daily Mail site.

This is the garage that does MY MoT and tomorrow is putting two new tyres on!
I've asked them not to road test it afterwards! smile

I feel sorry for the mechanic, as he is level headed, not a tearaway type, and has driven many "supercars" before without incident, so it is not as if he was inexperienced.

Wasn't a 30mph crash though was it.

He didn't look like he was going very fast based on the video. Just an unfortunate incident I think.

Wasn't going fast as such, but it makes it pretty clear he actually drove off!

He probably doesn't look like he was going very quickly in the video because he was sideways and half on the grass as he came into shot. Seems to have happened around here: http://goo.gl/maps/sKNyK

CCTV is here on the apex of the building.

Which is where he parked the car.

Rolling roads and 4 wheel drive anybody - I don't have 4 wheel drive, although I know DAF have issues with certain trucks on their rolling road.

It's true to say you can't do a rolling road brake test on a 4wd car, but my local Kwik Fit manage to do their brake tests in the service road outside the unit. The Murcielago seems to have been off on a bit of a jaunt.

Can't do a brake test outside the garage - it's along side the railway, and loose surfaced.
The road where the incident took place is probably the best spot without going cross country in the other direction.

The mechanic's father has a Porsche 911 as well as a few vintage vehicles, and he has always seemed sensible.

He's travelling sideways/backwards when he comes into the CCTV view, he then hits the parked cars and just drives off. Is that not an offence - leaving the scene of an accident?

As it seems he is in his late 30s and works for his father I suspect he probably drove back to daddy to see what he said to do about it.

Based on the view looking back up the road from the direction the car was travelling there appears to be quite a sharp right hand corner. Would it be fair to say that in a 4wd car with traction control it would be very unlucky to lose the back end, overcompensate only for it to snap back across the road sideways?

Mind you I am no pro crash scene investigator.....

That's why I avoid road testing customers bikes or cars if poss. If the car is making a strange noise or whatever I get them to drive it.....
Doesn't solve the brake testing thing tho'? How about no MoT brake testing in the wet?
