Leeds Commute (LS10) from M62 (East)
Discussion
Will be starting a fairly regular commute into Leeds in December when I change jobs, so just wanted some PH advise regarding traffic flow, camera's to watch out for, unmarked plod, etc..
Will be travelling in from Howden, J37 M62 and my new offices are just off the South Accommodation Road/Hunslett Rd. by the massive Costco. Will be using the Z3 as I'm taking cash instead of a company car.
The obvious route will be M62, M1, M621, J4. Don't mind travelling earlier or later to miss the worst of the rush hour, but never having travelled into Leeds centre in rush hour, no idea what to expect.
Any advice on local security issues/parking would also be welcome.
Thanks in advance.

The M1 then M621 into Leeds gets very busy, long queues etc... Not to mention hitting traffic on the M62 which backs up when there is a daily accident a bit futher down.
I'd consider leaving at 30, get on the 642 and pick up the 639 which will more or less take you to your office.
Or better still but would result in a few more miles to avoid the 621.. Take the M1 north to 45 and go in on the A63.. Again will take you to your office if you come off just before the new flyover.

A63 is ok coming of the M1, watch the speed limits it's abit funny how it is marked one side it is marked 40 other side it isn't marked, plod tend to lie around the roundies and will see you pulling a mile off.
I work two buildings down from the Costco, I find alot of people park on Leathley road, Council tend to let it build up then go out and fine them all at once, seen around 50 cars get stung the other week.
A63 is also has a 2+ only lane during rush hours, I tend to be on the A63 around 6:45 it's usually empty and alot of places to park.
There is a cafe upstairs over the road near the bike shop, it's decent food in there too.

I used to regularly drive this in the opposite way.
The M62 is famously bad but luckily you'll miss the worse on that side of Leeds and your against the majority of traffic am to pm.
The post above also makes a good suggestion.
On the way home I used to do
A63 link road
S on M1, one junction
Left and Southeast (A642?) through Oulton and Rothwell, past grammar school.
Back onto M62 East.
This "cuts the corner" of the M1-M62 interchange, it actually always flowed well, and few RABs but never gridlocked, and saved a few miles too.
The link road carries a fair amount of traffic lights but is nearly always fast flowing which is good and will go practically from the door of your office.
Definitely study the map, and do the trial runs and you'll probably find you have 2 or 3 routes to choose from each time, and keep your traffic announcements on! Tom Tom live is excellent too.

A639 from J41 of M1 right the way down to Oulton roundabout.
Coming from the J41 roundabout toward Rothwell you sometimes get plod with handheld speed cameras just after the Dewan curry house(old John-O-Gaunts Pub) - it's a 40 limit but 40 feels like walking pace on this bit so be cautious (ask me how I know)
Just before Oulton roundabout there is often a mobile speed van, similarly coming the other way there is another mobile van site opposite Tesco(ish). Basically, don't speed on the A639, you'll get stung eventually.
