This is only a partial rant about the needless use of fogs. What I'm thinking is it is time we stopped using red lights for fogs and brakes. Anyone think this is a good idea?

What, green for go? Rather than red for stop?

Those gene fked up colour blind bunch can't see a lot of colours (Yes, there's quite a few you freaks.) so red it'll have to be.

Nothing worse than meeting one stuck to your back end.

Frankly, on modern cars (since about 2000) rear fog lamps are pretty much pointless as the rear tail lamps tend to be perfectly bright enough to be seen on there own. I find the fog lights just dazzle and disguise actual brake lamp illumination.............

Doesn't red do less to muck up you night vision? If so any other colour would be more stupid.

I was following a car last night with it's rear fog light on and it was really bright, so I left a huge gap between me and it and it was fine. It did mask the brake lights a bit, but then there was a massive gap, so it didn't really matter.

I also followed several other cars who turned their rear fog light off as I caught them up. I just thought I'd mention it because it does happen, and not all other drivers are idiots.

Or the LED brake lights on Audis - way too excessive - half the number would be fine, especially as most don't seem to have the optional handbrake fitted so sit on the brake pedal.

Full beams usually makes some of them realise how fking irritating it is to those behind them when they sit with the foot brake on.

Exactly this, you wont be able to see anything if they were another colour. this is why submarines turn to red lights in combat mode.
