Hi Pistonheads I am looking to buy my first Porsche, I have about £25k to spend on either a Boxster or a Cayman. I would really appreciate some recommendations of good non-dodgy dealerships who don't patronise women! Based near Guildford so South East fine too. I have read various things about 911 Virgin but would appreciate any helpful info. Thanks guys!

Oli.

Harbour cars in Chichester have a very good reputation.

I went to OPC Guilford to test drive a Boxster last year (subsequently didn't buy it) and was very impressed with them.

Porsche Centre Byfleet, near junction 10 M25.

Used to be Camtune, and became Porsche accredited in 2009. They are still very independently minded (in other words they care), and have a good reputation.

All the prep of an OPC and 2 year official warranty from nice people.

Great thank you very much for your tips. I wasn't sure whether to post here or in Porsche. Rookie.

Give Mark Elsam a call-a very good friend of mine and he will certainly look after you! Craig

£25k would stretch to an 05 911 S, I'd recommend that over a Boxster/Cayman (mainly it's because it's what I did!). Also based around Surrey (Morden) and I can recommend Adrian Blyth (www.adrianblyth.com), normally deals in Lotus/VX220s but always has a few Porks for sale. If you're set on a Cay/Box then this might interest you:

911Virgin.com always seem to have good rep.

Cridfords in Surrey are always well thought of

Northway Porsche on the A4 near Thatcham are very good indeed. Ray used to look after my Box S and there really is nothing he doesn't know about Porsche

If you're in Guildford go and see Cridfords in Ripley. They are a specialist and the cars are very well prepped. Dont be afraid to haggle though!

It's a bit of schlep for you but i've always found customer service etc at the OPC in Stratford, East London was excellent.

One of the receptionists is particularly lovely too! smile

There is also Stirlings in Cornwall (I think). They are a little pricey, but their cars are always beautifully turned out. Despite being a PITA travelling a long way to see a car, IMO, it's worth if for something like a Porsche.

I believe a certain GT3 owner may disagree with you on this.

Not until he's finished exploding hehe

I've bought from 911Virgin and would definitely recommend them, or if you fancy a schlep I'd also recommend OPC Swindon.

No idea of reputation but there's Paragon Porsche in Five Ashes, Sussex. Only mention as I drove past every day recently whilst commuting to Eastbourne.

Speak to Mark Sumpter - proper chap.

If it's 911 Virgin then Henry Vermin is your man. Also a top chap.
