Peters (phazed) inspection for membership of the MCC
Discussion
As planned and despite very heavy traffic around Waterlooville I picked up my assistant Barrie and arrived at Peters at 7pm precisely.
It was obvious as soon as we were invited into Peter’s home that diversion tactics and bribery were high on the agenda. We were given a beer (that turned out to be stolen from his Sons own stash) and were introduced to a prepared and practised family unit. The smell of home cooking and dim lighting were all there to detract from the main purpose of the visit.
The food was actually very good and despite witnessing it being drawn from the oven I suspect it may have been made and delivered from a professional source. Another beer was forced upon us at the dining table before we eventually retired to the garage.
The garage had been cleaned and tidied a great deal in comparison to my last visit but only scored 3 out of 10.
So the inspection began. Barrie served mostly to keep Peter from trying to distract me from spotting the bodges and unfinished jobs of which were many.
2 hours later I had my findings recorded and we said goodbye to Peter and returned home.
I will not list the full details of the inspection here as it would take up too much web space.
So to cut a long story short it has been decided that Peter and his car will be awarded a provisional membership of the MCC. Full membership will be awarded dependant on satisfactory completion of all the unfinished work on the project and more importantly on providing rolling road or hub dyno proof of over 350 bhp at the flywheel.

I'm going to have a guestimate at 358bhp @ 6000 rpm and 370ftlb's @ 4000rpm
That can't be right Edited by GasMunkey on Friday 16th November 12:27

ETA: Sounds like the founder and his capable assistant undertook an indepth and unbiased inspection, despite the apparent smoke and mirrors tactics employed by the applicant. I think provisional membership pending proof of horse power is a fair decision. Much respect to the team.
