Won't have a chance to look at the user guide for a couple of weeks but how does one change the headlamp beam angle (2009 E91 with adaptive xenons) to drive on the right/left hand side of the road? Is there some kind of lever/switch at the back of the housing?

I have a 2010 e91 with adaptive and apparently you should turn them onto manual only - not auto which disables the adaptivness - i think i remember reading this in the manual - but was advised by my dealership of this....

I don't think you should be using stickers if you have xenons.

I went through this malarkey two years ago on my 2010 3er with adaptive Xenons. You turn the adaptive bit off by simply turning the light switch off 'A' and manually selecting the lights when it gets dark, high beam assistance is in the iDrive. Ref stickers, apparently you shouldn't be using them, gets too hot by all accounts. I gave up in the end and just got on with it, left them on adaptive, no stickers, never been flashed once or pulled over in 20k miles of European motoring.

Also note that link is to a 2006 car, I believe that LCI cars do not have a lever. Although I'm buggered if I'm going to the length that bloke has to find out!

Be interested to know how you get on, I was properly pissed off that on a supposedly 'Touring' car, you couldn't adapt the lights for European driving! WTF is that all about?

Today the dealer sorted the boost issue, and I also mentioned the lights adaptive setting, and indeed the mechanic found it - and very pleased with himself, demonstrated a flat beam. Very good! E92/Adaptive Xenons

So do they need to be adjusted or not? If so, how?

Yep, you take some covers off, and move this lever

yes but there is no mention of the lights being adaptive, just normal xenons. The info I have is that adaptive produce a flat beam as standard so no adjustment necessary.

So did your mechanix take off your front bumper as in that thread?

No, my lights were clearly going up in one direction - and I had stickers on the lights to stop the dazzle.

He adjusted it, and then it was flat - it is not flat as standard for RHD countries (as far as I am aware, otherwise, why will it have two settings?)

No, that guy took all that apart because he was trying to find it... you only need to remove some covers on the xenon's irrc.
