Well then!
Afer much trepidation, worrying about the end-result of my rather excessive dash modifications, I had my local independant Windscreen chap (Vale Windscreens - Evesham) come up to fit...
I was so concerned that my home-made and rather radical instrument binnacle would look rubbish once the screen was in - but turned out unfounded! Well! To me, anyway!
Jeff (Vale Windscreens) was a brick! He brought with him all manner of rubber seals form cars, trucks, you name it! My garage floor was a sea of rubber snakes!
..and so we played... for hours! Tried without (a-la-factory), tried with all manner of different configuration and mouldings with the aim to get the best internal finish we could on the join betwix headlining/ new dash and the screen itself...
The fit of the screen is certainly not exact in the hole and needs a fair amount of jiggling around to get anything like even gaps, but according the Jeff, who has done many, this is very common on kit-cars, and he had seen a heck of a lot worse!
Finally we plumped for two different internal rubbers, one for the dash area bottom edge, and another (MUCH thicker GRP lip)for the top section down to the dash, which came from a section of Artic lorry rubber...and the result was very pleasing... nice finish internal all around...
I am so glad I did not try this on my lonesome!
Will get some picks over the weekend!
Jeff is a top man!.....thank you Jeff!

Sorry chaps!
Had some fairly stressful incidents to deal with Saturday... Then sunday was so glorious, reversed the car out of the garage to make space so I could remove the doors, lay them flat on tressles and frig mountings for central locking, wire them up into a 5 core cable that doubles for the door mirrors (in the doors), and then attempted to upholster the doors (headliner/ cf fabric split)..... But I think I bit more off than I could chew...
Didn't manage to finish....5pm, I messed up the headlining, so threw all my rattles out of my pram.. And stomped off to the pub!
Will take picks if I can tomorrow morning!

Sorry for the delay chaps... here they are...
Managed to snatch these pickys of the dash area before leaving for work... and the remote locking bracketry!
What do think Guys?
Here is what I did for the remote locking...This was before final tidying up of the brackets and links...Tested before they were put back in the doors...seems to work nicely....
This shows the rubber finish to the inside of the screen (lorry rubber!!!), but gives a very neat finish to the headlining, and looks 'right' (IMHO) from the outside... took about 2-3 hrs of messing around with different ideas (without and with) and mouldings, even before we got to bond the screen in.
Finally, a closer picky of the dash - the left-handside top of dash edge has been chopped off ready for a new low-profile cowl to house the reversing monitor that is coming in the next few days...can't wait!

Another Job I am going to resolve in the coming "off season", I have cable solenoids operating the central locking on my car, works fine but every now and then cables need re-adjusted. Are these the type you have used?
I like the idea of a motor driven actuator as it would seem a bit more precise.

They certainly look similar...Are these the type you have used?

I wish I deserved all the accolade for the finished job, but I don't.
I simply did the design idea, tried and made many iterations of mockups (think some are on this site somewhere)and alli templates, and then the front plates were perfected and faithfully reproduced by none other than AB, who certainly deserve their place in the hall of fame! The devil is in the detail folk, and AB certainly know how to take a job to it's ultima-te (see what I did there?) ...adding that bit more ..errrr 'Je ne cest quoi' ...can't fault them..... Well, if you don't count Steve becoming 'Stephani' at the weekends that is!
What have I said? Sorry Steve!

I wish I was that good Mate - Unc Keith does his best, but keeps going off-plan, taking far too long, with many sleepless nights.... I am just a glutten for punishment!
