I've had a 'tingling' sensation down my left arm for a new weeks now. It seems to affect my two left-est fingers, the little and the... one next to the little, which I forget the name of.

It seems to creep up when I'm sitting doing nothing, but during 5-a-side last night, after a reasonable knock from another player, it seemed to start again.

Otherwise I'm in perfect health, keep fit - swimming, bike and running. No heath issues at all.

Have I damaged a nerve somewhere in my left arm? Could it be a symptom of something worse? Carpal Tunnel, or something like that?

I'm a fella, so Doctor adverse.

That's your ulna nerve, the one that gets bashed when you hit your funny bone. It may be you've knocked it or leant on it when you've been propped on your elbow. It's also possible it's getting compressed by muscles in your forearm, around your elbow or in your wrist.

Nerves take ages to recover, so if it's improving but has been aggravated by the knock you mentioned at football I'd ignore it. If it worsens then go see you GP.

A good Remedial Massage will sort you out.
Make sure the Practisioner uses the four movements associated with massage.
Trust me it works....I never fail.

I lost the feeling in my 1st and middle fingers, started with tingling then numbness. Freaked out totally (had just had lumbar fusion surgery so was a bit fragile).

Turned out to be a trapped nerve up near my neck (trapped by the first rib) aggravating things down in my elbow, and so on. A bit of massage/physio and stretches and it sorted itself out. Reoccurs sometimes (useless desks at work) and I do the right stretch and it fades away again.

So don't panic smile

But get it diagnosed if it carries on ? (I'm not a doc!)
