Eating out/ Take aways in Chesterfield

going down for a week long course a week sunday, just looking for recomendations on anywhere to eat!?

Almost every other shop is a takeway but there are very few good restaurants. The Old Post is about the best http://www.theoldpostrestaurant.com

I lived there for 8 years and couldn't think of a single place to recommend.

Plenty of excellent gastropubs if you head a few miles west towards the Peak District.

E.g. The Peacock at Owler bar, and you can do a few laps of the roundabout while you are there!
