Just broken down. Car just cut out and coasted to a stop. Waiting for breakdown recovery, but MJ light is on. (might actually be M.I?)
Any ideas what has happened or what I will be able to do to fix this tomorrow?
I'm only on the blackberry, so could not do a search.
Any ideas welcome

Bumped to entice those of a more knowledgable strain.

Was the 'cut out' electrical I.e. all lights out, or more mechanical as if fuel starved?

More clues would help

Check the fuel cutoff switch, disconnect the battery and re connect sounds like ECU fault

Mechanical as drive suddenly went, but lights still working. Lights are ok and it's not a battery issue as the car turns over, but does not start

Where is the fuel cut off switch? Happy to disconnect the battery, will give it a try.

Thanks for the quick responses

Fuel cut off is under the dash on passenger side, above your knees if sitting in the seat.

Press to reset.

Cuts fuel off in the event of a crash.

Sorry, another quick question. When I take the keys out of the ignition, the MJ light stays on. Is this normal? Assume so?

Sorry to be thick. Assume I need to unscrew the pocket first ( no screwdriver on me, but AA man will have)
Thanks again, had a shocking day at work and this was not needed

At a guess you may have an iffy immobilier so the battery reset might work, have you tried cycling through the lock un lock on the key fob a few times? You will need to do this after reconnecting the battery too

You should be able to reach under the dash up, towards the front of the car, big round button.

Easier to see when you drop the pocket.

Hi,there is no. Earth signal to the injectors and no live feed to the fuel pump. Where does the signal come from to the injectors?

Disconnect the ECU wait 5 min then reconnect,
If this doesn't sort it , it's the immobiliser

Thanks for all your help. Car still not working. One relay is constantly on, fuel pump primes, ECU was reset so think immobilser/ alarm. AA guy was with me 2 1/2 hours and eliminated loads of things.
Will get an auto electrian out and work out how to fix

Thanks all once again

The injectors have a live 12 volt feed on one side, and are grounded by the ECU when the injectors are opened. Now from memory the 12 volts is applied to the injectors when the main relay closes when the ignition is switched on (first click you hear from the ECU relays). The second fuel pump relay also closes at the same time to prime the pump, but then drops out after a couple of seconds if the engine is not turning- so you here a second click when the pump stops. If the 12 volt feed is missing from the injectors to start with- check the fuses in the ECU loom, there is one for this supply.

Fault finding manual here:

http://www.g33.co.uk/images/PDFS/14cux_fuel_inject...

The MIL light will light if a sensor has failed- but that could just be a side effect of loosing power to say the AFM from the main 12v feed from the ECU.
