Initial thoughts are that I shouldn't use the GT forum to post such news .

Generally pretty sh1tty to be honest - although from a personal standpoint (racing on the GT/F3 bill), we are only losing Brands, and it is the baby circuit, with no spectators and difficult to get to, so not too bad.

Silverstone and Donington will still provide the big name tracks, with places like Castle Combe, Croft and Thruxton providing pretty stirling backup.

I think that the real loss will be Oulton as not only is it a fantastic circuit, there is always pretty sensible support there. The GT boys may miss Snett, but that series will survive. The one at risk is the F3 championship. With strong competition from Euro F3, if the number of British tracks dwindles, then we may lose the drivers and therefore the championship.

I don't know anyone that goes to the meetings to watch F3 to be honest, but having said that, the card will look very empty without them.

IIRC, Allan Gow from BTCC was none too happy with the new charges being levied and made serious noises about pulling out of MSV circuits as well.

If that were the case, I fail to see how JP will make sufficient money to do what needs/wants to do!

I can see both sides - F3/GT/BTCC et all, don't want to spend more than they absolutley have to but MSV equally have to charge the going rate.

And if they can't afford it, how are the 750MC going to?

If I were JP, I'd be shoe-horning in every major championship I could right now - not sending them off else where!

Hi Steve

Interesting editorial from Matt James again in Motorsport News. I had an interesting telephone conversation with a fellow who is friend of Alan Gow and JP. It is going to interesting to see what happens over the winter.
