Cycle stand

Would fancy one for crimbo,but 3 of my road bikes are carbon and i dont fancy clamping the frame or seat pins,how do you boys manage and how do they do it in the bike shops .my felt also has shaped tubing so this looks a real faff.Sorry if this is a silly question but i want to buy the right stand.

I have a Park tools one, however, i don't have a carbon bike but i do clamp the bikes by the seat post sometimes - just do that?

You dont need to clamp it tight, just do it to stop it falling out is enough.

I hear that, but surely things like pedals and cranks are tightly fixed and you need a bit of leverage?

my seat posts are all carbon,and the felt has an aero profile to it.it says on the tubes not to clamp on any of the carbon parts.was thinking maybe saddle ?or the handlebars......but on one bike the bars are carbon .like above commentyou will need to clamp fairly tight for some jobs.

Use a bit of common sense and it's fine. Can easily drop bike the ground for higher torque jobs. Things like pedals don't require it in my experience.

My LBS just fits an old aluminium seatpost into any carbon frame/bike they're working on and clamps that into the stand.

ahaaaaaa this idea will work on two bikes.....top man.common sense:Dcounts me out,dont want to take any chances....one bike would never be replaced if it got damaged.....but this one will accept an alloy seat pin
