What IS working? Speed not working, is the odometer working (mileage counter)?

If neither, then either the speed sensor is u/s (it is on the diff), or the wires have a break. They run from the diff, up to and through the body under the triangle behind your left elbow, along the top of the transmission tunnel under the leather work, and into the loom and up to the speedo..

If the miles are working but the speed is not, then maybe the speedo is faulty?

I don't know enough to answer this correctly. You can get in - but I won't post how on an open forum. Email me.
You seem to have a major lack of electricity. Check the battery terminals and the 80 amp fuse once you are in. 80 amp fuse is along the thinner wire from the positive battery terminal.

Strange. Mine has two leads from the live battery terminal.
The thicker one goes I think to (actually from) the alternator and is how the alternator charges the battery. Your test suggests that the 100 amp fuse ( strapped to the underside of the chassis below the alternator) is intact.

The second (thinner) lead goes to the fuse board and has the 80 amp fuse in line along it's length. This powers everything else, so nothing works if the fuse is blown.

Right. Next find your fuse and relay board. It should be in the passenger footwell. There is a vertical bit of carpet with a rubber mat on it. It pulls back towards you, the fuse board should be behind there (but so should the battery).
On mine the main lead out to the board is brown and as a black flexi-plastic over. About 18 inches from the boards the 80 amp fuse.

If your fuse board is not there at all, try to find it. I have seen a photo of it positioned behind the passenger seat in the vertical hidden compartment. No idea where else it migh be. The 80 amp fuse could be close to it. I will post this comment and then go looking for the photo.

Me too - all my little knowledge comes from trying to work out what was wrong when I had a major mouse attack. Everyone helped online and in person, and I now have all the electrics working again. Just the handbrake and gearbox gaiters to reinstall and the car to put back together again. This weekend maybe!

Whereabouts in Essexshire are you? I was in very north Essex this morning, and there are loads of TVR owners in the Sarfend area.

Power at battery and alternator, no power at fuse board.
It is more than ever to me sounding like the 80amp fuse has gone.
You need to locate it. If you cannot find it yourself, have you got home start cover with the AA?
Also, there are quite a few keen TVR guys in your area. I'm sure they would pop over if you asked them. Matt Poxon (mpoxon) is a Griff owner from Southend who I have met a few times, and he will know who the others are.

That's better news. There doesn't HAVE to be an 80 amp fuse, but it is unusual not to have that protection. You clearly have/had a major disconnection in the main supply to the fuse board.

I am in Outwell, about 5 miles from Wisbech, 15 from Kings Lynn, 10 from Downham Market. Hope to be putting the interior of mine back together again if it stops raining long enough. I have had the radio out, the centre console top off, the dash top off, and all the battery wiring out, thanks to mice eating my wiring. All wiring sorted now, new ribbon cables insterted, just have to rivet in the new gaiter rubbers to the gear lever and handbrake and put the leatherware back on.
