i'm sure all here have got crap thats secretly put in the pc's registry by various progs, so i'm asking if theres FREE prog that can check+remove the uneeded junk from there.

I use RegClean. Email me and I'll send it you -- it's about a meg or less in size.

found Regclean 4.1 on download.com but says it's only for win 95/98/NT. Does this mean it shouldn't be used with XP?

Try www.jv16.org and download RegCleaner (free) or RegSupreme (30 day trial). Been using RC for ages without problems.

i tried that, an tho it seemed to work, you can't exactly tell for sure, as it didnt list what probs there were, as it didnt list any fixes it made.

Regvac did, altho i think that'll expire someday

What regclean does is create an undo file. Look in there and you'll see all the changes it made.
