A word of advice please - from those in the know. bow

I've noticed recently during the autumn weather that the heater only supplys hot air to the passenger side waist level air vents, which face the cockpit. i.e. the one by the door and the one in front of the gear leaver. I know the controls for these vents are fiddley to operate but I am now certain that I have all in the 'open' position and there is no hot air at all - even with blower on full, there is nothing. Passenger side is fine and provides a healthy blast of whatever-temperature-it-happens-to-be. All windscreen vents work fine, supplying an even distribution across the screen.

I'm sure a duct has become detached somewhere within. The big question though is do I have to dismantle half the car to get to it?? Or is the culprit connection likely to be reasonably easy to access? Unfortunately I fear it is likely that the car must be completely dismanteld and rebuilt around these ducts... frown Somebody please tell me I'm wrong. irked

On my car there is no duct connected to the drivers side top outlet!
I have never bothered to sort it as there is enough heat coming from the rest of the car.

It's a good question and I will look in eagerly for an answer. I have almost the opposite issue - plenty of hot air streaming from those centre vents and seemingly no way to turn them off, or even moderate the temperature much.

I keep almost burning my hand and the window buttons get amazingly hot (as does my MP3 player), I've tried every combination of on/off that should work but nothing seems to do it.

The wheel to turn the heat from footwell to windscreen seems to work - as in it certainly decreases flow to the windscreen so I don't think it's a cable issue but can't figure it out.
Hopefully someone will answer your query and i can piggyback off that too...

On my car the centre duct has two control wheels, one either side. One wheel moves the duct up and down, the other one closes it and stops you burning your hand ...

Yep, been there with the on/off thing - and the up/down thing too. I have the passenger side as a 'control' to the experimental moving of all wheels. All else works fine but nuffink out of the two driver's side vents, whichever way the wheels are rotated.

Still puzzled..... grumpy Julian and I await with eagerness. confused

Hi
Mine has got a round vent with flaps (2.5") on the tunnel drivers side, with the laps open the drivers side receives lots of hot air.
