Me again,

On removing coil packs today I found the even side had a wire loose in ht econnector plug. But sadly due to either being too heavy handed or they were all loose, the Odd side has completly come free. DOH!!

Can anyone please confirm the wire order is correct as per the picture here...

Also to fix this my guess is I need a new connector and start from scracth. Any electrics experts out there can let me know how to fix up a new connector please??

Or do they go the opposite way round??

Cheers all

Dave

Wiring diagrams are here http://www.tvr-cerbera.co.uk/wiringdiagrams.html

You can either (in rough order of preference);

Get new connector complete with terminal inserts (try http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu).
or
Get new terminal inserts and attach them to the wires and reuse the connector housing.
or
Remove the old inserts and reuse them preferably by soldering the wires rather than crimping them

Thanks. I assume they just pull out?

I also think the first picture is the correct order for wiring as there is a small piece of red sleeve inside terminal 3.

Just a swine to fit it all back in if its the wrong way round!!

Cheers

The coil connections are there, you need to trace them from the ignition ecu in main harness diagrams which should give you the wire colours.

Te terminals don't just pull out - they have a sprung section that holds them in the housing. You can usually push it down with a sewing needle from the front side of the plug. New plug and terminals is simplest.

I would replace both connectors, the one on the pic looks very corroded and the other one is probably about the same ...

Thanks for the replies folks.

I can see the small tabs down inside the connector under magnification. Tried to push them through but they wont budge. I am just going to get two new connectors and cut back the cable to good and add extra length.

Anyone know the make and part number for these connectors please??

Says the following on teh side... 171 906 236 and then maybe B00 in smaller letters under it.

I have searched these numbers but so far no results.

Any clues folks??

Thanks again

Dave

I still dont see the coil wiring on that main harness diagram? I dont even see the ignition ecu! I must be blind. Shame its not in higher resolution.

Found info on the ECU Schematic. It gives the use of each numbered connector I should be able to work out the correct wire order with my multi meter from there. Looks like my guess was right, but I will check prior to soldering new connector in place.

I replaced the TPots and injector plugs a few years back and got all the connectors, plugs etc from Southern Carbs. They've moved down to Crawley since then but now have an online shop. Web link -> http://www.sciperformance.co.uk/
They were really helpful and the total cost of the parts I seem to remember was under 20 quid. Give them a try they might be able to help.

HTH.

Thanks. I just ordered a set from VWP as they appear to be the same connection on the website pictures. Will know in a few days if I need to look further.

I will post up the mods when the new stuff arrives.

Cheers
