Vantage 2008 Sportshift stuck in. 1st gear

I had similar problem a couple of weeks ago. The error message appeared as I was driving.
I'm not very mechanical but the recovery chap pointed to the ground where there was some fluid. Vehicle was recovered to the dealer and I was told that something had failed (obviously) on the Sportshift box. The repair and subsequent return was prompt once the bits had been ordered. I don't think that's much help to you but I was told ASM failures are rare.

It had had a new clutch kit (flywheel, clutch & release) fitted about three months ago.
The release (high pressure hydraulic) decided to deconstruct itself - fluid everywhere, huge amount of smoke.
Yet another clutch fitted courtesy AM under parts warranty.

IF you pull both paddles back does even attempt to put it in neutral?

only just saw this - the effect was simply like a conventional car stuck in gear, ie stalled & couldn't get it back out of gear to start the engine. Probably just as well as the engine drives the hydraulic pump that operates the clutch, so it would simply have continued to bleed all over the roadIF you pull both paddles back does even attempt to put it in neutral?
