respraying, solid or metallic color, is either easier?

Was wondering, looking at the 205's paintwork, its a graphite grey, and its got loads of little metallic pigments in it, got me thinking, if the paintwork wasnt done well on it, wouldnt a metallic paint finish highlight the poor nature of the job more?
ie - if considering DIY'ing a respray of a project, would a solid colour finish give a better finish/be less risky?
NB: If im being really stupid and missing something obvious, i have man flue, you'll understand

If you want it to look any good I wouldn't do it yourself, it's not easy at all to spray a car, plus you'll need lots of expensive equipment to get even a half decent looking job and avoid dying (literally dying).
duly noted! got the 205 sprayed by a professional, bitterly disappointment with the whole experience, bonnet crazing, his manner and general attitude towards the whole job. Genuinely believe i would have made a better stab, or at least not wasted as much money doing it myself! im looking at getting an air compressor anyway - air tools
, would only need a couple more bits and pieces! main stuff seems to be a place to do it and all the prep stuff required, but these might also be sorted with the renting of a lockup being hopeful, unless my wonderful work contract is a pile of dirt and isnt up to it!
