Whats the origin of people posting food pics on the internet

I know on PH we have been messing about posting pics since 14th October 2008 (and a little before that) as per this this thread, but thats just our little corner of the internet.

Oh no. Its more people think a single guy does not know how to cook. So here, this is what I can do kind of thing.

It was actually a catalyst in wooing my current bit of crumpet, she's not a PHer but saw some of my postings of food on facebook. After a couple of dates and it coming up in conversation, I invited her to dinner and put on my best dish and we've been together ever since.

So, I guess in a way I use my kitchen skills and photos to lure girls in.
