E46 330D or E60 530D?

Posted this in BMW General but got very little response!

My plans have changed a bit from my last thread about the E90 330D, the 120D etc. I've decided to spend less and pay off my credit card, then move onto an E90 330D 12 months down the line instead.

So my budget becomes £5.5k instead or £7k. I've noticed both the 330D and the 530D of the variants mentioned are in this price range. The 530D seems more up to date, but the 330D will probably be more "fun" to drive IMO.

What are other folks' opinions/experiences?

I know your budget has changed but I massively recommend the E90 330d we had one for 6 years & 154k miles they are a fantastic allrounder IMO & we miss it loads now its gone, the E46 330d is well loved aswell, I have a E61 520d currently & it's a lovely place to waste away the miles in & with the 30d engine it will be even more appealing.

Both cars you have suggested are decent motors don't think you will be disappointed either way, happy hunting!

Think I'm leaning toward the E46 because I could get a sport. Having said that, I have seen an E90 for £6k so won't completely give up the dream yet but it's looking much more favourable for a good E46.
