I've got unnamed coloured stuff that I don't recognise coming out of holes I didn't know I had. Clearly it's man flu, the single worst affliction known to humankind and I need the help of all you people inside my Internet in order to stop me dying.

Everyone has their own favoured cure for this dreadful illness, generally I swear by whiskey mac's (good glug of whiskey, mixed with ginger ale), but that seems to have done little more than make me forget where I should fall asleep.

So, what's your preferred method for the control of man-flu when you are struck down?

Echinacea and Berocca for me - take it when I first feel a cold coming on... haven't had one in four years.

I swear by it - but it's more preventative than a cure

If there is a temperature, take 2 ibuprofen + wait 2 hours + 2 paracetamol + wait 2 hours. Repeat, whilst obviously being aware of the instructions on the bottle biggrin Maybe take the last 2 paracetamol of the day with hot lemon + honey. The vit C and honey probably don't help that much, but I find it really soothing.

Sore throat? As in another thread, salt water gargle now and then, optionally with half a (small) dissolved aspirin in it. Be aware that aspirin is the same family as ibuprofen, so don't overdose. Unlikely, but good to be aware.

Bunged up / runny nose? A squirt of Sudafed every 12 hours.

Eat a kebab with the spiciest sauce you can find, guaranteed to work and a lot cheaper than medication although you might get an illness from the road kill used to make the kebab but your flu will be gone.

Alternatively have a hot curry biggrin

Vicks First Defence.

It simply works and I take it whenever I'm around anyone with a cold, or feel any symptoms brewing.

Awesome stuff.
