Button V's Hamilton thread
Discussion

Why did that get banned? Yeah there'll be a bit of fanboyism in it but a blooming interesting discussion, as the OP said the points difference between the two is tiny for all their differing style & accomplishments.
If a forum is based on discussion between members, where does stopping this discussion leave the forum?

It's a race to the bottom in terms of thread quality for topics like this.
Fanboys of Hamilton are unmovable.
Fanboys of Button are unmovable.
A couple of reasonable, balanced posts from those of us that think they are both great, but quite different drivers will be lost in a mire of increasingly antagonistic and vitriolic posts....

Every F1 thread is characterised by a poster always having more knowledge and being a bigger fan than the previous poster. Before you know it, every participant disappears up their own arse and the thread turns to s

Every. Single. Time.

That's not true. I should know, I've been reading PH longer than you. Papa Hotel said:
Yeah, well, I would have had more posts but for reliability issues. I'd definitely have taken three "poster of the year" awards by now.
Yeah, right, but if you look at the posting frequency and the gap between posts, combined with another stat that I'm about to invent, you'll see that I'm actually the better poster.Alex said:
Whatever, closing a thread should be a LAST RESORT. Are you listening, mods?
It's like the Minority Report. We think this thread will descend into a flame war, so we're closing it now children, before you even start.
Far too much of this lately; it's an insult to PH'ers.
But frankly, we'll end up with 30 threads in motorsport covering:It's like the Minority Report. We think this thread will descend into a flame war, so we're closing it now children, before you even start.

Hamilton vs Button
Schumacher vs Senna
Schumacher vs Rosberg
etc
If you want those, and want to see the quality of the debate, go to Autosport forum, it's full of them.

Back in your box.
My PPP would be 37.65 so much better than your puny 37.5.
